Raise Your Voice Gala, Lincoln Center, NYC, 2018
Raise Your Voice NYC at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, March 5, 2018
On March 5, 2018, the Voice Health Institute celebrated its 15th anniversary with a memorable gala fundraiser at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in the heart of New York City. The event, hosted by British actress, singer, and TV presenter, Connie Fisher, celebrated VHI’s support of the medical-surgical breakthroughs and educational programs directed by Drs. Steven Zeitels and Robert Hillman of the Mass General Voice Center. These programs have preserved or restored thousands of voices, and will help ensure that research, education, and outreach continue to advance the standard of care for individuals suffering the devastation of voice loss.
Renowned star of stage and screen Julie Andrews was the special Guest Honoree for her long-standing support of VHI, serving as Honorary Board Chair since VHI’s inception. Amazing performances and personal stories were shared by Roger Daltrey, legendary lead singer of the influential rock band The Who, Grammy Award and Oscar-winning singer, Sam Smith, and Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist, Keith Urban, famed sportscaster Joe Buck, Tom Hamilton, iconic bassist of Aerosmith, contemporary visual artist George Condo, and world-renowned opera singer Denyce Graves.
In addition to a star-studded red carpet, the gala reached capacity with attendees including voice patients along with their families and friends, graduates of the Mass General Laryngeal Surgery Fellowship Program, voice research scientists, collaborators and more.
